Pavel Filip: In August we will get first tranche of foreign assistance

“The Republic of Moldova in August will benefit from the first tranche of external financial support after we sign the agreement with the IMF. This will be the first tranche of the loan promised by the Government of Romania last autumn, “ Prime Minister Pavel Filip said in the talk show “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.

“To sign the agreement with the IMF, we must only agree a technical matter – the method of fiscal administration of external loans,” stated the Premier.

According to Pavel Filip, besides the Romanian loan, Moldova will also get US$45 million from the World Bank and €45 million from the European Union by the end of the budget year. It will also benefit from US$25 million from the IMF. “We do not wait for fabulous sums from the IMF. For us, their experience and expertise and their recommendations for efficient government are more important,” stated the Premier.

Pavel Filip assured that the citizens will soon feel the effect of reforms. “It’s clear that the people could not see changes in only half a year. But reforms were done and laws were adopted and the people will feel the changes by this yearend. I’m sure that the Republic of Moldova will enter the next year with big changes,” he stated.
