Pavel Filip: I hope new President will renounce electoral rhetoric

Prime Minister Pavel Filip, after voting in the presidential runoff, said he believes in Moldova’s chance and in democracy. He congratulated the people, saying they will ultimately have a President elected by them and noted that the election campaign is finally over. He voiced hope that the future President will renounce the electoral rhetoric, IPN reports.

Pavel Filip said he wants the future Head of State to cooperate with the Government, which has a priority reform action roadmap and an agreement with the International Monetary Fund. “I hope the new President will work in the same direction as the Government,” stated the Premier.

More than 2.8 million Moldovans eligible to vote are expected to cast their ballots in the runoff elections on November 13. Polls work between 7 am and 9pm.
