The leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova Pavel Filip said pressure started to be exerted on their party after he made it clear that the PDM will be managed in a way that will be entirely different from the style of the previous president. Vladimir Plahotniuc tried to negotiate particular interests through the agency of the party and, when he realized that this is not possible, he, Pavel Filip, was removed from the post of head of the parliamentary group and MPs of the PDM started to be later attracted, IPN reports.
“They followed Plan B that envisions the attraction of a large number of MPs from the PDM. This thing does not enable the Democrats to form a coalition with the ACUM Bloc, which is the first goal. The second goal was to reduce the number of Democratic MPs to the limit where there could be no parliamentary majority with the PSRM. The Candu-Shor group is thus created and they can take part in negotiations,” Pavel Filip stated in the talk show “About Us” on Jurnal TV channel.
According to Pavel Filip, the former Democratic MPs and the MPs of the Shor Party will initially try to have discussions with the parties of the right. “They will tell them that they agree to vote for the dismissal of the Government and that they have no conditions. However, after the Government is removed and the negotiations for appointing a new Government start, I’m sure there will be many conditionality elements with which the parliamentary right will not agree,” he noted.
The politician anticipates that by such methods, a new group of MPs is to be formed and these will be important in the negotiation and formation of a parliamentary majority.
“These people act absolutely irresponsibly. Throwing the Republic of Moldova into a political chaos, given the experienced coronavirus pandemic and the economic crisis, is absolutely irresponsible. I don’t think it will be possible to appoint a new Government if the current Government is removed,” said Pavel Filip.
