Prime Minister Pavel Filip rejects the idea that the Republic of Moldova is a captured state. He provided arguments on the issue in the program “Moldova live” on the public TV channel Moldova 1, IPN reports.

“We have seen many slogans in the Republic of Moldova lately. I do not really understand what a captured state is. The state is represented by a number of institutions. I personally was a minister and headed an institution and didn’t feel captured. I took decisions within possibilities. My colleagues also didn’t complain about having been captured. If somebody feels captured and cannot work, they should say it. I think these are unfounded statements,” said the Prime Minister.

Pavel Filip admitted that he is also not satisfied with the situation in the country. “I do not like the general state of affairs, besides the situation in justice and the banking system. The people want better living conditions. I think we will start from here and will then reach the other issues,” he stated.

The Premier assured that he will concentrate his efforts on restoring the money stolen from the banking system. “The stealing of the US$1 billion is the key reason for the worsening of the situation. It is within the competence of the law enforcement bodies to punish those to blame. We will make effort to restore that money. We will even have a special board to show how the stolen sum will gradually decrease,” said Pavel Filip.
