The central authorities and the local authorities of Gagauzia intend to continue to make effort to maintain a constructive dialogue given that many of the problems appear because of lack of communication. After the March 4 joint meeting of the Cabinet and representatives of the Executive Committee and the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia, Prime Minister Pavel Filip and the Governor of Gagauzia Irina Vlah said that both the central authorities and the regional ones have common objectives aimed at ensuring the people’s welfare, IPN reports.
When making statements for the press, the Premier noted that such a joint meeting was necessary and the executive is determined to take concert measures to solve the problems faced by the inhabitants of Gagauzia. They agreed to create working groups on areas, which will consist of ministers and representatives of the Gagauz authorities. These will identify the problems and will work out a plan of action for dealing with them.
Bashkan Irina Vlah said the decisions that were taken in today’s meeting are important for developing the region. The authorities of Gagauzia informed the members of the Cabinet about the socioeconomic situation in the region. They also discussed the priorities and problems of Gagauzia and possible solutions.
The Governor noted that a social economic development plan for the region until 2019 is to be adopted during the next two months. This will enable to do a number of reforms in Gagauzia. The local and the central authorities have common goals, especially as regards the improvement of the living condition and ensuring of stability in Gagauzia, which managed to attract again the attention of the central authorities.
Also today, Prime Minister Pavel Filip sand other officials who travelled to Avdarma to take part in the Government’s meeting laid flowers at the local memorial and visited an exhibition of national products, mounted at the local Business Center, and the village museum.
