Pavel Filip discusses with representatives of Moldovan diaspora in Belgium

The current state of affairs in the Republic of Moldova, especially in the economy, was disused by Prime Minister Pavel Filip with representatives of the Moldovan diaspora in Belgium in a meeting in Brussels on November 24. During the discussions, the Premier spoke about the efforts made to improve the situation in the banking sector and measures aimed at improving the investment climate, IPN has learned from the Government’s press service.

The representatives of the diaspora inquired about the situation in agriculture, the investigation of the banking frauds, the benefits of the pension system reform and the impact of the central public administration reform on de-politicization and enhancement of state institutions’ capacities.

“We want to bring about fundamental, not superficial changes. The reforms must be done concomitantly, as a set. The people will come home when they feel that in the Republic of Moldova they can live comfortably and in welfare,” stated Pavel Filip. He assured that the authorities will further concentrate their efforts on increasing salaries, developing infrastructure and high-quality public services.

According to statistics, about 2,500 citizens native of Moldova live in Belgium at present.
