Judoka Paulina Țurcan has won a bronze medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival that is held in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku, IPN reports.
In the first match in the 40 kg weight class, Paulina Țurcan beta Russia’s Sofia Afanaseva, but in the semifinals lost to Turkey’s Muberra Gunes. In the match for the bronze, the Moldovan athlete won against Oliwia Onysk of Poland.
The judo competition in Baku will also involve Oxana Diachenko, Alin Bagrin, Cătălin Ermuraki, Radu Izvoreanu and Dan Stănilă.
