Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will hold a religious ceremony at the Metropolitan Cathedral “God’s Birth” in Chisinau within the visit he will pay to Moldova on September 7-8, IPN reports.
In an interview for Radio Free Europe, secretary of the Moldovan Metropolitan Church Vadim Cheibas gave details about the program of the Patriarch’s visit. His Holiness will take part in a festivity that will be staged by the Metropolitan Church at the National Palace “Nicolae Sulac” on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the foundation of the Diocese of Chisinau.
Patriarch Kirill will visit the Capriana Monastery, where there is buried Metropolitan Bishop Gavriil Banulescu Bodoni, who is one of the founders of this diocese. He will also go to Tiraspol to meet with Bishop Savva. The Diocese of Tiraspol and Dubasari forms part of the Metropolitan Church of Chisinau and All Moldova, stated Vadim Cheibas.
The Russian official promised that the next years he will visit other dioceses of the Metropolitan Church of Chisinau and All Moldova, which also expect such visits.
