Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia had a meeting with veterans of the Second World War and then remembered the war victims at the Memorial Complex “Eternity” on the second day of his visit to Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. ”We know what sacrifice the Moldovan people made when defending the mother country. This monument was erected in memory of the victims. You, the veterans, are the living proof of the heroism of the Moldovan people. Namely this heroism allowed maintaining the integrity and independence of the country. Some try to politicize that heroism and diminish its importance. Until you are alive, you have the mission to tell the young generations what you did,” Patriarch Kirill said, addressing the veterans who gathered at the Memorial Complex “Eternity”. The Patriarch wished the veterans to be in good health and laid flowers at the monument to the soldiers killed in battle together with the Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and All Moldova Vladimir and Russian Ambassador to Moldova Valery Kuzimin. On October 10, the Russian official will visit the pediatrics section of the Oncology Institute in Chisinau and will then go to the Monastic Complex “Curchi”, where he will bless the small cathedral. He will leave Moldova in the afternoon.
