The Party of Socialists of Moldova “Patria-Rodina” called on a number of election contenders to withdraw from the race for the November 28 early legislative elections and support the parties that deserve entering Parliament.
In a news conference held at Info-Prim Neo on Tuesday, the party's chairman Eduard Smirnov said the election runners that are aware of the danger of the present administration remaining in power should abandon their political ambitions and withdraw from the electoral race.
“Patria-Rodina” considers the Alliance for European Integration will be able to maintain power only with the help of the votes that it will get after redistribution from the runners that will not pass the election threshold, and by vote rigging.
In order to avoid such a scenario, “Patria-Rodina” sent letters to a number of election contenders, asking them to withdraw. The letters were sent to the Republican People's Party, the Social Political Movement “Ravnopravie”, the Moldova's Patriots Party, the Republican Party, the Social Democratic Party, the Conservative Party, the Labor Party, the United Moldova Party, the Social Political Movement of the Roma, the Humanist Party, and the independent candidates Valeriu Plesca, Victor Stepaniuc, Evghenii Nazarenco, Maia Laguta, Tiatiana Tambalist, Elena Burghila Leonte, and Natalia Axionova.
Valentin Krylov, secretary of the “Patria-Rodina” Party, said that by withdrawing from the electoral race, the contenders will show improved political culture and will prevent the loss of votes.
According to the representatives of the party, only the components of the Alliance for European Integration and the Party of Communists of Moldova should remain in the race so that the population is not confused by the large number of election contenders and their platforms.
The Party of Socialists of Moldova “Patria-Rodina” did not apply to be registered as a participant in the November 28 early legislative elections.
