Leaders of the Party of Socialists of Moldova “Patria-Rodina” told a news conference on September 30 that they do not approve of the government program of the new executive as it has a declarative character and runs counter to the European practice of organizing the internal affairs and to the practice of defending the national interests, Info-Prim Neo reports. “After analyzing the government program, we established that it does not lay emphasis on important problems faced by our country. The ordinary people do not need statements. They expect concrete steps, “ said the party's secretary Valentin Krylov. He also said that the Alliance for European Integration does not take into account the internal possibilities of the country, but counts on foreign assistance. “Stress is put not on solving the political, economic, social and cultural problems, but on the notion of European integration, which is a dogma for them. We should not expect aid from abroad. Our country has potential to develop and solve the problems by itself,” Krylov said. “Patria-Rodina” does not agree with the way in which the country's reunification objective was formulated. “This priority is laid out in an nonconstructive way and makes one come to only one conclusion – no progress can be made in the Transnistria conflict settlement process and the reopening of the talks is highly importable,” the party's secretary said. As to the steps that will be taken to overcome the financial and economic crisis and ensure economic growth, Dumitru Harabari, representative of the party's local office in Drochia, said that the government program does not contain tasks for managing the crisis and immediate measures and does not say when the declared economic growth will be reached. The Socialists consider that the executive paid inadequate attention to education, science, healthcare, culture and transport. “Nothing concrete is said about the urban public transport system, while the maritime transport is not even mentioned, even if it is one of the cheapest means,” said Anatolie Labunet, a member of the party and specialist in maritime matters. The government program “European Integration: Freedom, Democracy, Welfare” approved on September 25 has five major objectives: Moldova's Europeanization, the country's reunification, guaranteeing the supremacy of the law, overcoming the economic and financial crisis and ensuring the economic growth, and decentralization of the power and guaranteeing of local autonomy. The parliamentary group of the Communists Party did not take part in the vote on the program. In the electoral campaign, “Patria-Rodina” supported the PCRM.
