From October 9, those who used the services of a medical institution from Chisinau municipality or from the country can state their opinions about their quality on the electronic platform www.spitale.md. The communication platform was launched within a partnership between the Health Division of the Chisinau Municipal Council, the Center for Health Policy and Analyses (PAS) and nine municipal hospitals, IPN reports.
The head of the Chisinau Municipal Council’s Health Division Mihai Moldovanu told a news conference that the sides involved in the partnership agreed to cooperate in order to improve transparency and the quality of the hospital medical assistance.
The patients are urged to access the website www.spitale.md where they can give grades to medical institutions and doctors in a number of areas. The filled out questionnaires mustn’t be signed.
Mihai Moldovanu said such monitoring is widely used in the EU and it will lead to greater competition between the medical institutions.
PAS director Viorel Soltan said the portal covers 55 municipal, district and national medical institutions and the list will be extended to include all the 80 medical institutions of the country. The users will be able to compare the hospitals and the quality of the medical services provided by them, to leave comments and to put questions.
The portal www.spitale.md was designed within the Health Monitor Project that is financed by Soros Foundation Moldova.
