The patients who had to purchase themselves the medicines prescribed by the doctor while receiving treatment in the hospital because the hospital’s drugstore lacked them have the right to ask for a refund from the medical-sanitary institution. The patient must present documents showing that the drugs were indeed purchased, IPN reports, quoting a communique of the National Health Insurance Company.
The patient’s application will be examined in accordance with the internal procedures of the medical institution. The obligation of the hospital to refund the costs covered unjustifiably by the patients is stipulated in the framework contract for the provision of medical care. Such contracts are signed by the National Health Insurance Company with all the hospitals.
The Company fully covers the cost of treatment and hospitalization for the hospitals. Therefore, the medically insured patients must have free access to examinations and consultations for being diagnosed, receiving medical care and treatment, accommodation and food. The persons who didn’t fully benefit from hospital medical assistance are asked to report such cases through the Company’s green line 0800 99999.
