Patient taken from border with Romania to Chisinau hasn’t got coronavirus

The man who was taken from the border with Romania to Chisinau by an ambulance is not infected with the novel coronavirus. He lied in order to get to Moldova. The information was presented after the meeting of the Single Command Center for managing the crisis caused by COVID-19, IPN reports.

Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu said the person was transported to the hospital, but he didn’t have clinical signs of COVID-19. The man admitted that he lied. He resorted to this after he had a quarrel with a carrier and, in order to reach the Republic of Moldova, said that he was infected with COVID-19. The case was reported to the police, which will decide what punishment the man deserves.

Thirty cases of infection with the virus have been confirmed in Moldova so far. A 60-year-old woman who was hospitalized on March 8 was treated and allowed to go home. Two more persons will be discharged the next few days.
