The body of a man aged 59 was found in the Nistru River not far from the sanatorium “Struguras” in Dubasari district. The body was noticed at a distance of about 5 meters from the ban by a patient of the sanatorium, who called the police.

Contacted by IPN, head of the press service of the General Police Inspectorate Sabina Cojusnean said the man was from Recea, Straseni. He was recovering his health at the resort. Signs of violent deaths were found on his body. The police identified a suspect, who was arrested and is held at the remand center of the Dubasari Police Inspectorate. The suspect is 20 and is from Chisinau.

He admitted that he drank alcoholic beverages with the victim on the eve. As a result of a conflict between the two, the young man beat the victim to death and then threw the body into the river. The suspect will be subject to a mental examination. If he is found guilty, he will serve 20 years in jail.
