The patent holders will continue to protest in front of the Government Building. These announced a new protest for July 20 and demand to liberalize small trade and to annul the ban on working based on patent that is to take effect on January 1, 2017, IPN reports.
According to the small traders, they had discussions with Minister of Economy Octavian Calmac, but protesters’ demands weren’t satisfied. “Nebulous promises are made with the aim of misleading the public opinion. The economic rights are limited and, de facto, we have an anti-reform government. The numerous petitions with thousands of signatures of business entities got only formal answers,” said protesters.
They also said that the draft law on SMEs does not respect the principles of the Small Business Act for Europe, including the “Think Small First” principle. If the ban on small business based on patent is not abrogated, tens of thousands of women and men will lose their jobs.
Last week, the small traders staged a protest in front of the Government Building, demanding that the executive should endorse a legislative initiative that abrogates the provisions that ban trade based on patent from 2017.
