Moldova’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 Pasha Parfeni and his team are leaving for Liverpool, the UK, to take part in the competition. In a news conference, the artist thanked all those who helped him reach the most important song contest of the year and urged them to support him further, IPN reports.
Pasha Parfeni called on his compatriots, no matter where they are, to vote for him so that the Republic of Moldova’s voice is heard all over Europe. “We really bank on your support. The result matters a lot and this depends on how we transmit our energy and perform at this contest. The team is very important and for me the team is each citizen of the Republic of Moldova, no matter where they are. The result depends a lot on how we mobilize. Moldova has a voice in the European Union and at Eurovision,” stated Pasha Parfeni.
Elena Parfeni, the author of the lyrics of the song “The Sun and the Moon”, which Pasha Parfeni will sing at Eurovision, told the same news conference she is proud that this song will be sung in the Romanian language. “The whole Europe sings with us. The whole Europe looks for the translation of the lyrics and this way I contribute to promoting the image of our country. The lines make reference to the national symbols,” she stated.
The semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place in the Liverpool Arena on May 9 and May 11. The Grand Final will be held on May 13.
