Pasha Parfeni finishes 18th at Eurovision in Liverpool

Moldova’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, Pasha Parfeni, ranked 18th in the final with a score of 96, IPN reports.

Pasha Parfeni got 20 pints from the jury of the participating states. Norway gave 8 points, Romania – 7, San Marino – 3, while Armenia – 2. The public offered him 76 points.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 was won by Sweden’s Loreen with the song “Tatoo”. This singer also won the contest in 2012.

Owing to the war started by Russia, Ukraine could not host the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 after winning the competition with “Stefania” sung by the Kalush Orchestra in 2022. The UK played host instead of Ukraine.

Moldova has taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest since 2005. The best result so far was obtained by the band SunStroke Project with “Hey, Mamma!” in 2017 – the third place. In the contest last year, the band Zdob și Zdub and the Advahov Brothers’ Orchestra ranked seventh with “The Little Train”.

In 2012, Pasha Parfeni competed in Eurovision in Baku with the song “The Fiddler” and finished eleventh out of 26 contenders.
