The parliamentary group of the Party of Action and Solidarity will have at least six new MPs from among substitute candidates. Some of the PAS MPs were named ministers, while others to posts that are not compatible with the status of MP. Under the legal procedure, the substitute candidate is declared elected by the Constructional Court at the request of the Central Election Commission, IPN reports.
At least six seats of MP are now vacant following the appointment of Natalia Gavrilița as Prime Minister, of Andrei Spînu as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, of Dumitru Budianschi as Minister of Finance, and of Sergiu Litvinenco as Minister of Justice.
Adrian Băluțel was named chief of the Premier’s staff, while Rosian Vasiloi became head of the General Border Police Inspectorate.
According to the list of substitute candidates for MP, the PAS parliamentary group will be joined by: Viorel Barda (jurist), Ana Calinici (jurist), Yevghenia Cojocari (teacher), Boris Popa (jurist), Ana Oglinda (doctor) and Dorel Iurcu (economist).
The seat of MP is incompatible with such posts as the office of President of the Republic of Moldova, member of Cabinet, ombudsperson and local elected official and with any other paid post, including a position in a foreign state or an international organization, except for teaching and scientific activity carried out outside the set program.
