In the municipality of Chisinau, there are tens of yards of apartment buildings that haven’t been repaired for years. Even if the Chisinau City Hall invests in a series of projects to set up playgrounds and fitness grounds in yards of apartment buildings, accurate information about the number of repaired yards and the total investments made hasn’t been yet published. Such accusations were made by PAS municipal councilor Dumitru Ivanov in a news conference titled “What Ion Ceban didn’t do in yards and blocks in Chisinau”, IPN reports.
According to the councilor, even if over 1 billion lei has been spent on yard rehabilitation works the past five years, the logic of investments and the criteria for selecting the yards are not clear. “To solve this problem, the PAS group on the Chisinau Municipal Council put forward a draft decision aimed at improving the rehabilitation and development of yards in the municipality of Chisinau. This stipulated three essential criteria, such as inventorying of all the yards in Chisinau, working out of a multiannual plan for the rehabilitation of yards and annual publication of a list of yards in which money is to be invested. The draft wasn’t supported by the Chisinau Municipal Council yet,” stated Dumitru Ivanov.
PAS MP Vasile Grădinaru said the apartment buildings in the municipality of Chisinau are like swarms without appropriate infrastructure. “Near old blocks, former sites of playgrounds and sports grounds are now offered to building companies for erecting apartment buildings there,” stated the MP.
The adviser to the mayor Natalia Ixari said that by its actions the Party of Action and Solidarity tries to distract the attention of the citizens of Chisinau and the whole country from important issues. “The PAS continues to spend money on manipulation, false information, lies and denigration. The official figures alone rise to over half a million lei. The PAS also distributes printed materials, including illegally printed ones, all over the municipality of Chisinau. So far the PAS hasn’t fulfilled any of its electoral promises and aims to distract attention from the serious economic and social problems experienced by the people,” stated the adviser.
Ion Ceban was elected mayor general of the municipality of Chisinau on November 3, 2019, in the runoff vote, with 52.39% of the ballot.
