The Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS) nominated its candidate for the presidential elections. The party’s National Political Council on July 3 unanimously voted to field PAS leader Maia Sandu as a candidate for President.
Contacted by IPN, PAS secretary general Igor Grosu said the negotiations with the European People’s Party of Moldova, the Liberal Democratic Party and the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” will continue. The party’s Standing Bureau was mandated to hold negotiations and is to hold a meeting today, July 4.
Igor Grosu noted that the three parties with which the PAS negotiated delegated candidates to take part in the talks, but PAS didn’t. After the party was registered with the Ministry of Justice, they initiated the other formalities, including the nomination of the candidate and holding of negotiations.
