The Russian Federation gradually loses its influence on the Republic of Moldova and the political parties that are obedient to the Kremlin are the last instruments its uses, said MP of the ruling Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Vasile Grădinaru. According to him, the demonstrations typical of the Soviet Union, which were staged on Victory Day on May 9, were organized by pro-Russian parties that act against the interests of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
The leader of the Centrist Union of Moldova Mihai Petrache said that he attended the protests mounted by the Șor Party because he wants to help the vulnerable citizens to cope with the high bills. His party joined the Movement for People in order to make the government pay the bills for the winter season from the funds provided by the country’s foreign partners.
“We didn’t promote someone’s interests. We subscribed to an idea – the payment of bills. We haven’t yet received a response as to what happened to the money provided to support the population during the cold period of the year. It goes to over 27 billion lei. We know how much went to subsidize the bills, but we don’t know how the rest of the money was spent. They keep everything secret in our country. We requested the Government to furnish such information for three times. It seems that this is the Plahotniuc Government that took decisions at night,” Mihai Petrache stated in the program “Shadow Cabinet” on JurnalTV channel.
In the same program, the leader of the Party “Democracy at Home” Vasile Costiuc said the pro-Russian parties, through the agency of the propaganda mass media, continue to influence the collective mentality in Moldova and the events held in central Chisinau on May 9 prove this.
“What we saw in the Great National Assembly Square on May 9 is regrettable. People came with Stalin’s portrait. I was in the Square and requested the police to go and take the banner with Stalin away as this was defiance and disrespect for the memory of our grandparents who were deported by this criminal. But the police refused to take action, noting that those to blame will be held accountable after the demonstrations,” stated Vasile Costiuc.
“Evidently, the police should not enter the crowd and tear placards away as altercations would have started. The police drew up over 100 reports and all those persons will be invited to the police station for being fined,” said PAS MP Vasile Grădinaru.
In the same connection, representatives of the government said the pro-Kremlin parties are the last redoubt through which Russia wants to keep its influence on Moldova. Vasile Grădinaru voiced hope that the Constitutional Court judges will declare the Șor Party unconstitutional and all the parties that act to the detriment of Moldova’s interests will later have the same fate.
“Russia tries to use the last instatements it has in the Republic of Moldova, namely the political parties from here. We speak about criminal groups that now represent foreign interests in the Republic of Moldova, about the Șor Party and other parties that I hope will be outlawed because they act in the interests of anther state and try to defy the law. We make effort to bring things back to normality,” noted the PAS MP.
The Constitutional Court’s hearing in which the Government’s request to outlaw the Șor Party is being examined continues today, May 12, starting at 10am.
