MP of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) Sergiu Litvinenco said the discussions initiated by the Party of Socialists are ”institutionalized” ones, noting that after forming an alliance with the Shor Party, the PSRM became an oligarchic party and there is no place for “institutionalized” discussions, IPN reports.
In a posting on Facebook, the MP said the Socialists name these discussions “informal”, but make the invitations to them public. What is the purpose of such invitations if they anyway discuss “informally” in the halls, in the meetings of commissions and during the breaks in sittings?
Sergiu Litvinenco noted that the Constitution clearly provides how snap parliamentary elections can be called. “The first step is the resignation or removal of the Chicu Government. The second step is the rejection of the vote of confidence for the next two candidates for Prime Minister nominated by the President. After 45 days of the first request for investiture, we can say that there are constitutional circumstances for dissolving Parliament,” said the PAS MP, noting snap elections are held in at least two months and at most three months of the issuing of the presidential decree to dissolve the legislature.
According to the MP, the PSRM-Shor coalition has 55 votes of MP and, if they really want snap parliamentary elections, they can reject any vote of confidence for a new Cabinet. “We pledge not to vote in a Cabinet as we are for snap elections. This is the “plan”. I see no need to hold formal or informal discussions,” he stated.
The Party of Socialists invited the MPs to informal discussions for working out an action plan for dissolving Parliament and holding snap legislative elections. They had yet discussions only with the For Moldova platform that includes the MPs of the Shor Party.
