Zinaida Popa, deputy chair of the PAS group in the Chisinau City Council, has decided to keep her current job over the MP seat that she won in the July election.
Popa said she decided to “stay and work in the interest of the Chisinau residents with dedication and determination” and thanked voters and her PAS team for the opportunity to become a lawmaker, albeit very briefly.
According to the PAS councilor, Chisinau faces numerous problems, including a lack of proper public transport, illegal constructions, and inadequate diets in schools and kindergartens, among others. “In about two years as a city councilor, together with my colleagues, I have been able to solve many of people’s problems”, said Popa, adding that the plans to continue doing this.
The PAS group in the Chisinau Council will work together with their Parliament colleagues to improve the legislation where it has proved detrimental to the Chisinau residents, said Popa. She also promised to help uncover fraudulent schemes in the municipality and contribute to the city’s development.
