PAS leader submits application to Constitutional Court

The leader of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu on a social networking site wrote that she notified the Constitutional Court of a law that bans the people from the diaspora from paying dues and making donations to political parties, IPN reports.

Maia Sandu said the given ban violates the principle of equality before the law, suppresses the right to association and runs counter to the recommendations of the Venice Commission and other international institutions.

“Only transparent party funding, with small donations, including from people from the diaspora, will weaken the dependence of the political class on the treacherous interests of the oligarchs,” wrote the PAS leader.
