The Party Action and Solidarity (PAS) demands to annul the results of the mayoral elections that were held in Jora de Mijloc commune of Orhei district on May 20. The PAS leader Maia Sandu said a challenge was filed to the Orhei Court for the reason that grass and unprecedented violations of the legislation were committed during the elections in the commune.
According to Maia Sandu, the cap on spending for an election runner in Jora de Mijloc was set at 93 504 lei. But the Shor Party spent at least 294 505 lei, according to the estimates of Promo-LEX. This is by at least 200,000 lei more than the legal limit.
On the election day, the voters were corrupted and transported in an organized way to the polling place. The voting process was illegally filmed. Drones flied above the commune on the election day. “We cannot stay aside and follow how Plahotniuc allows Shor to rig the vote with money stolen from the citizens, to the detriment of the will of the inhabitants of Jora de Mijloc commune,” stated Maia Sandu.
The elections in Jora de Mijloc were won by the candidate of the Shor Party Marina Tauber. This polled 61% of the ballot.
