After three months of the declaring of the state of emergency, the Government hasn’t yet managed to propose a plan for alleviating the effects of the socioeconomic crisis. The number of persons ill with COVID-19 is on the rise and the pressure on the healthcare system grows, while the Government failed to take measures to reduce the contagion rate. The Government did nothing to help the businesspeople to keep the workplaces and the people to keep their incomes, said PAS leader Maia Sandu, who proposed a list of emergency anti-crisis actions for being undertaken and implemented by the Government, IPN reports.
PAS vice president on social matters, MP Dan Perciun said the Government should increase the testing capacity to 5,000 tests a day and should create mobile teams for testing people at home all over the country and those infected should be placed in strict quarantine. The fines should be reduced so that they are commensurable with the average official salary and are applicable to everyone. The PAS supports the idea of raising the salaries of healthcare workers. The intensive care sections should be outfitted and protective equipment should be provided for healthcare workers. Also, the families should be compensated for the lost salary if one of the parents stays at home. The children who do not have computers should be supplied with some and should be ensured access to the Internet, etc.
Natalia Gavrilița vice president on finance, said the virus should be taken under control or the economy will be affected. To help the businesses in this period, the Government should subsidize the technical unemployment in the amount of 75% of the main salary in a particular period for employees of companies that stopped work. A loan guarantee fund for SMEs of at least 2 billion lei should be created, local tourism should be stimulated and the losses sustained by famers because of frost should be compensated for.
PAS vice president on business and economy, MP Radu Marian proposed deferring the payment of interest rates on loans and related costs for those who lost incomes in the period. A national program for the re-qualification of the unemployed is needed. To increase the level of transparency at public institutions, the meetings of Parliament and of the councils of the local public authorities should be held online. Information about hirings, during the state of emergency, at the institutions subordinated to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Defense should be published. The persons from the diaspora who face difficulties should be helped to return home and the prices of plane tickets for flights that were cancelled during the pandemic should be refunded. Information campaigns centering on the rules of stay in the EU should be launched.
