The Party “Action and Solidarity” and the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” created the electoral bloc ACUM Platform DA PAS for taking part in the parliamentary elections of February 24, 2019. The leaders of the two parties signed an agreement on the constitution of the bloc on December 16. Both Maia Sandu and Andrei Năstase said nothing can prevent the two parties from achieving their great wish to be free and to ensure the rule of law, a functional justice system , a functional economy and better living conditions in Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
“For two years, we have struggled hand in hand. We are united by our wish to return things in the Republic of Moldova to normality, to offer the honest people a chance to live decently at home, to enjoy the conditions for which they left the country so that those who left could return. We are united by the wish to build a really democratic society where the votes of the people count, where the people decide who should represent them in the country’s administration and who should take decisions in their name and where the vote is not stolen or bought. We are united by our commitment to build a state with the rule of law that would protect us from all kinds of thieves, usurpers and corrupt people. We are united by out commitment to promote economic policies that would create conditions for those who can work to ensure their welfare, while those who cannot work would be protected, including at economic level, by the state,” said Maia Sandu.
“The Republic of Moldova at a certain moment remained without an alternative to the current hybrid, oligarchic and geopolitical government. By our effort, of everyone, we built our parties “Dignity and Truth Platform” and “Action and Solidarity” that share the idea of what quality means in the Republic of Moldova, of what honesty, integrity, meritocracy mean. We thus decided to form this electoral bloc,” stated Andrei Năstase. According to the politician, a lot of work, devotion and wish to be free are needed to achieve all the objectives and the two parties proved they have such capacities during the past few years.
Under the agreement, the electoral bloc ACUM is managed by a Political Council that consists of eight members, two of whom are co-presidents – Maia Sandu and Andrei Năstase – who are also co-presidents of the electoral bloc. The other six members are Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei, Igor Grosu, Mihai Popșoi, Alexandru Slusari, Inga Grigoriu and Kiril Moțpan.
The Political Council of the electoral bloc approves the list of candidates for MP on behalf of the electoral bloc for the national electoral constituency and for single-member constituencies, appoints the group managers and approves the list of members of initiative groups for collecting signatures in support of the given candidates.
Under the agreement, the electoral bloc will stop existing three days after the Constitutional Court validates the parliamentary elections, if the responsible bides of the two signatory parties do not take a different decision by then.
