Party of Socialist urges Platform “Dignity and Truth” to protest together

The leader of the Party of Socialist (PSRM) Igor Dodon called on the representatives of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” to leave the pride aside and to protest together with them so as to free the captive state. In a news conference on September 24, the Socialist leader warned the members of the Platform not to disappoint the protesters.

“Leave the political struggles and messages aside as you will discredit yourself before the people and it will be harder for us to achieve together with you the key objective – to free the captive state. Forget about pride and phobias,” stated Igor Dodon.

The politician reiterated their plans to mount a large-scale protest on September 27. He argued that the Party of Socialists and Renato Usatyi’s “Our Party” represent more than 500,000 people in Moldova.

“More than half a million people, according to the election outcome, want to protest. The Party of Socialists is obliged to come to Chisinau together with its supporters and to protest against the current government. We were voted by over 300,000 people who do not want to protest alongside the members of the popular front of the 1990s. We decided to stage this protest without political flags. The goal is to remove the oligarchs,” said Igor Dodon.

On September 27, three columns of protesters of the Party of Socialists and “Our Party” will set off consecutively from different locations and will move towards the center of Chisinau. The marches will end with the pitching of tents. Igor Dodon announced that the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau was reserved by the Socialists for this day.
