Party leader predicts early elections in Moldova

The vice president of the Patria-Moldova Party, Gheorghe Sima believes early parliamentary electrons are likely to occur in Moldova if the government doesn’t take steps to improve the social and economic situation in the country. Gheorghe Sima told a news conference today that at the next elections the Communist Party will no longer be able to achieve the results of the last two parliamentary elections. The politician believes the ruling party is aware of the potential failure and tries to find itself some allies among the right-wing parties. This is how the vice president of Patria-Moldova explains the series of ruptures inside the opposition. Sima asserts that the government is trying to destroy its rivals by using different methods. More than two years ago almost all the leaders of opposition parties were prosecuted, and later another scheme was employed – to delay or refuse registration of new parties. This is a well-planned strategy to liquidate certain parties that oppose the government, Sima said. The European organisations are closely watching the developments of Moldova’s political life, and in response to the abuses of the government the European Court of Human Rights rejected the candidates for ECHR judges fielded by Chisinau, the politician stated. In his words, Tiraspol will also refuse to talk the Transnistrian conflict over as long as the Communist Party is ruling the country.
