Party “Action and Solidary” constituted, Maia Sandu elected chairwoman

The political project initiated by ex-minister of education Maia Sandu was constituted as the Party “Action and Solidarity” (PAS). In the constitution congress on May 15, Maia Sandu was chosen as chairwoman for a period of 10 months, until the next congress of the party, IPN reports.

The delegates to the constitution congress voted in former deputy minister Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei and the dean of the Faculty of History and Geography of the Teacher Training University “Ion Creanga” Sergiu Musteata as deputy heads of the party, while ex-deputy minister of education Igor Grosu was elected as the party’s secretary.

The party’s Standing Bureau also includes gender equality expert and psychologist Daniela Terzi-Barbarosie, lawyer and university professor Nicolae Rosca, Doctor of History and university lecturer Virgil Paslariuc, department head at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu” Vitalie Braniste, and Bachelor of Politics, Psychology and Sociology of the Cambridge University Dan Perciun.

The PAS is a party of the political right. In accordance with the party’s statutes approved at the congress, this will be financed with membership dues of 120 lei a year and donations of 100,000 from private individuals and of 200,000 lei from legal entities.

Among the priorities of the new party are to promote correct and responsible persons to executive posts, lower costs of living and jobs at home, to clear the system of thieves and corrupt persons, to bring back the state institutions at the service of the people. The party’s program was published on the PAS’ website, where the people are urged to analyze it and submit recommendations.

To take part in elections, the new party must be registered by the Ministry of Justice.
