Parts of roads are still blocked

A number of road sections in the country remain impassable. The Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure said two of the four sections have been blocked since last Friday, while the other two portions in southern Moldova were closed last night.

These are the sections Ciumai-Burlaceni and Vulcanesti-Slobozia Mare of the Chisinau-Cimislia-Vulcanesti-Giurgiulesti road and parts of the Ceadar-Lunga-Comrat-Cantemir road (46-50 km) and of the Basarabeasca-Comrat road (13-14 km).

A number of local roads are also impassable. These include the access road to Baccealia village of Causeni district, the road that joins the villages Ucrainca-Zviozdovca-Tocuz-Salcuta of the same district, the access road to Gaidar of Ceadar-Lunga district and the access road to Vishniovca-Baimaclia, Gotesti-Tartaul and Gotesti-Doina-Kioselia of Cantemir district.

Customs Service press officer Cristina Rau has told IPN that traffic restrictions are yet in place at the customs posts Ceadar-Lunga 1, Ceadar-Lunga 2, Vulcanesti and Cismichioi owing to the blocking of the access ways to Ukraine. Following the appearance of ice bridges on the Nistru River, the wharf-like customs posts Soroca and Cosauti were closed.

During the last three days, 13 customs posts stopped work owing to the bad weather. More than half of these have now resumed work.
