‘Partnership, solidarity and brotherhood’, PM Recean greets Romanian foreign minister

Moldova and Romania have a bilateral agenda characterized by continuity, intensity and results on multiple dimensions, declared Prime Minister Dorin Recean during a meeting with Romania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Luminița Odobescu, who is visiting Chisinau.

The Moldovan prime minister expressed his gratitude for the support offered by Romania to our country in the process of European integration, as well as in the implementation of a number of projects that bring concrete and sustainable benefits to people.

“A strong and reliable partnership, solidarity and brotherhood - these words describe the relationship we have with Romania. We are grateful for all the joint initiatives and continue to work together to ensure a better and prosperous future for all our citizens”, stated the prime minister.

Romania is the leading trade partner for Moldova and one of the largest investors, with Moldovan exports topping 1.4 billion lei, and the number of companies with Romanian capital being over 1,600, with investments exceeding 6.7 billion lei.

Also, Romania granted 6 million euros for Moldova to implement 33 projects under the European Village Program, another 30 million euros to renovate 1000 kindergartens and 4 million euros to buy school buses.

Romania also supports the young people of Moldova, offering over 2,500 scholarships annually for students. In recent years, Romania has financed numerous infrastructure projects, including the construction of bridges, the modernization of roads and water supply and sewage systems, as well as the equipment of hospitals and the restoration of cultural sites.
