The allocations from the state budget intended for political parties could be used to cover the office rental costs of parties. The Cabinet endorsed an amendment to this effect to Article 28 of the Law on Political Parties, IPN reports.
The decisions to direct the money for covering the rental costs will be taken by the administrative bodies of the recipient parties.
A sum of 40 million lei was earmarked in the 2016 state budget for financing parliamentary and extra-parliamentary parties. The money will be distributed to parties according to the results achieved by these in the last parliamentary and local elections.
