The Party of Socialists (PSRM) has so far spent over 1.2 million lei in the election campaign prior to the June 14 local elections, while the “Our” Party – over 1.5 million lei. These parties reported the largest costs of the nine parties that submitted financial reports to the Central Election Commission (CEC) so far, IPN reports.

The PSRM spent almost 1 million lei on publicity, while the “Our” Party – over 1.3 million for the same purpose.

The Liberal Party (PL) spent almost 10,000 lei, all of it on publicity.

The Electoral Bloc “European People’s Platform of Moldova - Iurie Leanca” reported costs of 7,500. The largest part of the money went on staging electoral meetings.

The Party of Communists spent 4,000 lei on electoral meetings.

Another four parties – the Liberal Democratic Party, the Democratic Party, the National Liberal Party, and the Christian-Democratic People’s Party – reported zero expenses.

The CEC asked the Party of Socialists and the “Our” Party to present reports to show the origin of the spent money within three days. The PSRM and PL must also present additional information about the electoral posters and the copies of the contracts signed with publicity agencies.
