Parties of collective workplace disputes to be reconciled in ten days

Parliament adopted in the first reading changes to the Labor Code by which a period of ten working days is set for conciliating the parties of a collective dispute at work and issuing a decision if the members of the conciliation commission reach an agreement. By the common consent of the commission members, the given period can be extended for another five working days, IPN reports.

The bill authors, a group of MPs, said the adopted changes will contribute to improving the procedure for resolving collective workplace disputes, eliminating situations of abuse when the issuing of a decision on the resolution of the collective workplace dispute is delayed, making the conciliation commission members more responsible when taking decisions and to ensuring the observance of the labor rights and interests of salary earners and employers.
