The participants in the Chernobyl cleanup will receive financial assistance from the Chisinau City Hall. Thus, 950 persons will get lump sums of 1,000 lei, IPN reports.

The money is provided on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear plant accident, marked on April 26.

Those entitled to financial assistance include the participants in the Chernobyl cleanup and the families of Chernobyl liquidators who died as a result of those activities. The money can be collected from the branches of the commercial bank “Moldindconbank” starting with April 22, by presenting the identity card.
