The legislature’s first plenary sitting of the spring-summer session will take place on February 16. A decision to this effect was taken by the Standing Bureau on February 9, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the legislative body, the MPs are to discuss and adopt a number of important bills. The agenda of the sittings of February 16-24 includes draft decisions for approving the action plan for implementing the justice sector reform strategy for 2011-2016, and the action plan for 2012-2013 for implementing the national anticorruption strategy for 2011-2015, and the draft decision on the institution of the National Culture Day. The lawmakers will also debate the bill on the prevention and combating of organized crime, and amendments to the Law on the Center for Combating Corruption and Economic Crime and the Law on the Social Protection of People who were affected by the Chernobyl nuclear accident. The agenda also includes a bill on the way of dealing with planes that illegally enter Moldova’s airspace and a series of amendments to other legal documents. Under the Parliament’s regulations, the spring-summer session starts in February and last until July.
