Romania will be represented by delegations of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies led by Florin-Vasile Cîțu and Ion-Marcel Ciolacu, IPN reports.

“The joint meeting of the Parliaments of the Republic of Moldova and Romania is held for the first time and this is a strong message of support for our European integration efforts and also a message about what we can do together to extend cooperation in such areas as infrastructure, energy, investments, health, education or culture,” said Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, who is quoted in a press release of Moldova’s Parliament.

The agenda will start with laying of flowers at the Monument to Ruler Stephan the Great and Holy at 9:25am.

The joint meeting will begin with protocol ceremonies and will be followed by speeches of Moldovan and Romanian officials. A joint statement is to be signed in the meeting. After this, the Speakers of the Parliaments of the Republic of Moldova and Romania will give a joint news conference.
