Parliament’s chairman is satisfied with the activity of the current legislative
The parliament of Moldova worked last year under the sign of political partnership, thing that makes different the current legislative of previous ones, announced on Wednesday, 29 March, the speaker Marian Lupu on the occasion of one year of activity of the legislative.
Lupu said that this year it was managed to distinguish particular interests of those imported for the country.
Parliament’s chairman mentioned that the legislative paid special attention to changing and improving the legislation for activity of juridical system, audio-visual system, and local public administration. He highlighted that till the end of this session the parliament will comply all commitments towards the Council of Europe.
Referring to Transnistrian issue, Lupu said that it is regarding unilateral denouncing the Memorandum of 1997, it considers that it would an un-thought and dangerous step, which could create a juridical lack with unforeseen results.
Referring to relations of Moldova with Ukraine, after elections of 26 March in this country, Lupu hopes that regardless of possible new configurations in Supreme Rada, relations will go on.
As result of parliamentary elections of 6 March 2005, the representatives of 3 political formations created the parliament – Communist Party with 56 mandates, Bloc „Moldova Democrata” with 34 and Christians Democratic People’s Party with 11 deputies. Later many deputies split off BMD, creating a new party – Democratic party, the others working independently. A deputy left Christian Democratic faction.
