The opposition MPs in the July 12 sitting asked that Parliament should question a number of ministers, the administration of the National Agency for Energy Regulation, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anticorruption Center about the banking fraud, the natural gas tariffs, the revision of tariffs for medical services, the conditions in education institutions and the situation in the security zone. The proposals weren’t supported by the parliamentary majority, IPN reports.
The Socialist MPs asked that the administration of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anticorruption Center should be questioned about the recovery of the funds stolen as a result of the banking fraud. According to Vasile Bolea, four years have passed since the banking fraud and society wants to know how the money is recovered. The proposal was supported by the Liberal, Liberal-Democratic and Socialist MPs, but was short of votes to be accepted.
The Socialists also requested to question the managers of the National Agency for Energy Regulation and the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure. Radu Mudreac said the gas tariffs were reduced by 20% in March and the consumers received recalculated bills for January and February. But those who use gas to warm the homes and water didn’t receive recalculated bills. The Socialists said the minister of health, labor and social protection should be questioned about the revision of tariffs for medical services. According to Vladimir Odnostalco, over two years have passed since Parliament adopted a decision that contained a revision request, but neither the Government, nor the Ministry provided a response. The MP said the managers of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of the Interior and the Mistry of Justice should also be questioned about the anti-drug policies. The proposals were also rejected.
The Lib-Dems requested to question the administration of the National Anticorruption Center about the report on the monitoring and assessment of the implementation of the national integrity and anticorruption strategy. The Liberals asked to question the minister of education about the reportedly deplorable situation at the secondary school in Aluatu village of Taraclia district. In this connection, the Communist MPs asked that the minister should present information about the preparedness of the education institutions for the new school year. The proposals were short of votes.
Liberal MP Roman Botan requested that Deputy Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic should be questioned about the recent developments in the security zone, where the Operational Group of Russian Forces, in concert with the separatist forces, stage provocative actions. Speaker Andrian Candu said this and other subjects are to be disused in the next week’s meeting of the competent parliamentary platform.
