Parliamentary hearings on situation at Chisinau Arena to be held next week

Representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office and of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure will be invited to parliamentary hearings centering on the situation at the National Arena (Chisinau Arena). Such a request was made by PPPDA MP Alexandru Slusari, IPN reports.

The MP said the lots are mortgaged and re-mortared and the facility hasn’t been put into operation yet. “Whose are those debts? What’s happening there? What are the state’s commitments? We don’t know anything,” Alexandru Slusari said at the start of the February 11 meeting of Parliament. He noted representatives of the PGO and the Ministry of Economy should be invited to clarify the situation.

PAS MP Lilian Carp said he made a number of requests for information and the PGO confirmed that particular legal proceedings were started over this facility. He noted representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research should also be invited to the hearings.

The hearings were set for next week.
