The parliamentary faction are being contacted by the staff of the President Nicolae Timofti and invited to consultations with the head of state with a view to designating a candidate for Prime Minister. The information was communicated to IPN by the President’s spokesman Vlad Turcanu.
The parliamentary groups are expected to come to the Presidential Building at 6pm on July 25.
By this noon, the parties that signed the agreement to form the Alliance for European Integration 3 – the Liberal Democratic Party, the Democratic Party and the Liberal Party – haven’t announced any decision concerning the candidate for premiership. The only name made public is that of the acting minister of education Maia Sandu, who seems not to enjoy the support of the PDM and PL now that she made public her conditions for accepting the post.
