Parliamentary Council for European Integration holds launch meeting

The Parliamentary Council for European Integration on April 19 held a meeting to launch the activity of the future parliamentary platform. Head of Parliament Adrian Candu said this Council represents a new mechanism and this will meet weekly, IPN reports.

“We start to work on a parliamentary platform much more intensely and in a much more organized way towards fulfilling the commitments assumed before the European Union,” stated Adrian Candu. He also said that the Council’s task is to identify the shortcomings in the process of implementing the Moldova - EU Association Agreement and to work out measures for removing it and to also analyze the impact of the already adopted laws on the people.

Two weeks ago, the legislature’s Standing Bureau decided to create the Parliamentary Council for European Integration as a mechanism for exercising parliamentary control on the implementation of the Association Agreement with the EU.
