Parliamentary committees of Moldova, Romania, Ukraine and Albania to adopt resolution

Members of the legal committees of the Parliaments of the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Ukraine and Albania will have a joint meeting in Maramureș County in Romania on February 14-15. The discussions will focus on topics related to EU accession and European legislation on fake news and hybrid warfare, and a resolution will be adopted at the end, IPN reports.

The parliamentarians from the four countries will examine aspects related to the pre-accession to the European Union, with a focus on the negotiating chapter on justice.

The MPs will discuss ways to ensure the independence of the judiciary and the vetting procedure, strengthening of anti-corruption bodies and recovery of criminal assets, cooperation in the field of combating drug trafficking and fraud, the public administration reform, protection of fundamental rights and media independence.

At the end, the participants will adopt a resolution.
