Parliament to inspect MoldovaGaz
The economic and financial situation of the public gas utility MoldovaGaz will be examined by a special parliamentary commission that was set up at the suggestion of the MPs who represent the European Action Movement (MAE), Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the MAE leader, MP Veaceslav Untila, the commission will analyze why the tariffs paid by the population are so high.
Liberal lawmaker Oleg Bodrug was named head of the special commission, while the Liberal-Democrat MP Simion Furdui – deputy head. Veaceslav Untila will serve as secretary. The commission also includes the Liberal-Democrat MP Veaceslav Ionita, the MP of the Moldova Noastra Alliance Party Valentin Cheptene, unaffiliated MP Victor Stepaniuc and Democrat MP Valeriu Guma.
Under the MAE's initial proposal, the commission was to be headed by Simion Furdui, but the Liberal MPs, including Speaker Mihai Ghimpu, insisted that Oleg Bodrug be named head as Simion Furdui in 2000 had held the post of president of SA MoldovaGaz during ten days.
