Parliament to examine PCRM’s proposal to initiate procedure for electing head of state
The bill concerning the initiation of the procedure for electing the head of state was included in the agenda of the October 20 sitting of the legislative body, at the Communist group’s suggestion, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Head of Parliament Marian Lupu called on the lawmakers to support the proposal, saying he takes thus a step towards remedying the situation.
The Liberal MPs and unaffiliated lawmaker Mihai Godea voted against.
The leader of the Liberal group Mihai Ghimpu said the election of the head of state is a very important subject and thus they should not hurry up. He stressed the leaders of the ruling alliance should come together for a meeting to discuss this issue.
