The parliamentary majority on Thursday will confirm the ECHR judge Mihai Poalelungi as president of the Supreme Court of Justice, the leaders of the parliamentary groups of the ruling alliance told Radio Chisinau, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The head of the Liberal-Democratic group Valeriu Strelet said the professionalism and objectivity of Mihai Poalelungi cannot be questioned, while the leader of the Democratic group Dumitru Diacov expressed his conviction that Poalelungi will be able to improve the spirits among the judges. Mihai Poalelungi was selected for the post of Supreme Court of Justice president by the Supreme Council of Magistrates on February 7. The post has been vacant for almost a year. Judge Ion Muruianu held the post on an interim basis.
