The lawmakers took another break until Friday, January 23, 3pm. The Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group asked for a break in order to identify a candidate for the post of Head of Parliament, IPN reports.
The extraordinary session of the legislature started on January 21. As the MPs could not agree the agenda, they took a pause until Thursday, January 22, when they elected the composition of the special commission for choosing the Speaker and approved its report on the voting procedure.
The negotiations between the pro-European parties didn’t result in the formation of a majority coalition and the PDM called on the PLDM to assume responsibility for governance together with it, without the PL.
The leader of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin told the journalists that the Communist faction will vote for the candidate for the post of Speaker. The Communists also have a candidate for one of the posts of Deputy Speaker, which is occupied by a representative of the opposition.
