The legislative body accepted the resignation tendered by Marcel Răducan, stating the vacancy for president of the Competition Council as from August 11 following resignation, IPN reports.
According to the author of the draft decision Olesea Stamate, initially the decision envisioned the dismissal of Marcel Răducan from the post of Competition Council president based on his resignation and of Ala Popescu from the post of Competition Council member as from August 10 based on her resignation.
However, the legal commission for appointments and immunities removed point 2 from the draft decision – acceptance of the resignation tendered by Ala Popescu - for the reason that particular circumstances need to be verified. The examination of this point was postponed until another meeting. In this connection, the commission proposed a modified draft concerning the resignation of Marcel Răducan only.
Ex-MP of the Democratic Party Marcel Răducan was named president of the Competition Council by Parliament in November 2018.
